About HumanKait

TLDR: Kait Mallardi aka "HumanKait" is a 27 year old mixed media Artist based in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Most of her work is created using acrylic paint, alcohol ink and colored pencil. She has always showed a spark for art and it was an easy choice to study it further in her adult life and pursue it professionally as well! She hopes that the artwork makes you smile and think of the playful wonder of the natural world.

Childhood: Kait grew up on the Big Island of Hawaii and was always doodling or creating something. Art has always been integral to her life and she took pride in practicing drawing and entering youth art contests. She participated in mentorships with Donkey Mill Art Center and local artists through facilitation of Innovations Public Charter School at this time as well.

College: Kait decided to study locally and went to Hawaii Community College where she took both general education courses as well as a variety of different art courses. She studied to achieve her BA in Arts at University of Hawaii after earning her AA in Liberal Arts, Associates in Creative Media (CMAA) and her 2 year certification in Digital Media Arts at Hawaii Community College. 

Work Life: Kait works as a Studio Manager for acclaimed local artist, Alex Gupton in addition to starting her own art career. She didn't always work in the arts so every day that she does is a blessing! She's grateful to be surrounded by artists in her community to learn from and to be supported by. 

Projects: Most artworks are created by Kait to sell or reproduce (if not just for the fun of creating!) Kait is currently working on applying to create artwork on other projects locally and is excited about the opportunity to work on commissions and special projects in the future.
